About the Town of Keysville

Just 20 miles south of Farmville (home of Longwood University) and just over an hour from both Richmond and Lynchburg, our convenient location is the perfect place to raise a family or start a business.

We have a wonderful playground, Tower Park Playground, that Shentel Corporation has recently donated $15,000 to revitalize. A stage on Osborne Street hosts events such as concerts to raise funds for the Keysville Volunteer Fire Department.

Keysville has many merchants and is the commercial hub of Charlotte County, with a grocery store, a drugstore, and two general merchandise stores. More importantly, there are a number of locally-owned businesses that sell everything from antiques to clothes to flowers to hardware supplies.

Tucker Timber operates 3 sawmills on the Keysville site, with 2 of those dedicated solely to railway tie production. Genesis Products is a leading supplier of wood and laminate products for a variety of industries.

Keysville residents and businesses enjoy easy access to higher education and workforce training opportunities. J.H. Daniel Campus of Southside Community College is located on Rt. 40 just outside of town, Hampden Sydney College is only about 20 minutes away, and Longwood University is less than a half hour away.
